Class of 2024, I know this is not what you expected heading into high school, but together we will take on this challenge and make the best of it.   I can only image the endless questions you may have when thinking about high school. Hopefully this post will be able to answer a few of those questions and keep you connected to what's going on @ WHS.  Next week the Superintendent will be updating the school community on our preliminary plans for our return in September. Early Career Programs @ BCC

Juniors and Seniors,  Below is something I received from Bergen Community College that I wanted to share. What they are offering is not for everyone; however, I believe there might be a handful of students who may be interested. Since the BCC program takes place from 11:30 am - 2:15pm, students interested would need to work with me and their guidance counselor to make adjustments to their schedule in order to participate in this type of program. Early Career Programs @ BCC  It seems with hybrid instruction planned this fall at many high schools, there is a greater interest in alternative programs for high school students that may be interested in entering the workforce immediately after high school.  To support those efforts, Bergen Community College will be running three shared-time certificate programs for high school juniors and seniors that will connect these students to careers in critical, in-demand industries such as health professions, logistics and education. The summer is a great time to make sure you are ready for September when school starts. This upcoming school year, communication is going to be more important than ever, as we prepare for the unknown. So, your first summer assignment is to make sure you are signed up for your grade level Remind group, students and parents/guardians. Remind provides a safe way for the administrators, teachers and coaches at Waldwick High School to communicate with students and parents/guardians via text messaging. Each grade level has a Remind group for students and something new this year, grade level parent groups. Update Fall/Summer 2020 WHS Athletics

Dear Parents and Athletes, I hope you and your families continue to be healthy and safe this summer. We are excited to start Phase 1 of Summer workouts this week. The NJSIAA has just issued guidelines on the beginning of Fall sports throughout the state. Here are the basics of the plan: Summer Recess workout period will last until August 28th (voluntary) Fall coaches may have only virtual contact with teams from August 29th - September 13th Mandatory Fall practices will not begin until September 14th Regular Season contests start between September 28th - October 2nd Here is the official memo from the NJSIAA - NJSIAA Delayed Fall Start The NJIC Conference will design new Fall schedules for our teams to follow. They should be completed and be made public within the next couple of weeks.
