About
Kevin
is the Principal of Waldwick High School located in Bergen County, New
Jersey. He is a passionate educational leader that has
created an environment at his school that encourages teachers to be risks
takers, embraces the use of social media and models digital citizenship for his
students and staff. As the
lead learner, Kevin believes everything begins with building strong
relationships with his teachers, students, parents
and the entire school community.
Kevin
embraced the use of mobile devices as an educational tool and developed a BYOD
program. He teaches technology courses
for the district’s professional development academy that include: Google Apps, Twitter 101, Web 2.0 Tools and Time with
Technology.
Kevin
was nominated for the NASSP Digital Principal Award in 2013. He is an active member of the educational
twitter community, where he has developed a powerful PLN that fosters life long
learning.
Kevin
began his career as a Physical Education and Health teacher at Emerson High
School in Union City, NJ. In addition to
teaching, Kevin coached football and basketball at the varsity level. His administrative journey began as the
Student Relations Coordinator at Emerson High School. He then transitioned into the role of Assistant
Principal at the Jose Marti Middle School in Union City. The journey continued when Kevin accepted the
position of Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Waldwick High School in
Waldwick, New Jersey. Within the
Waldwick school district Kevin is the chair of the District Crisis Team, a
member of the Professional Development Committee and the creator of the Parent
Academy.
