New Procedures for Reporting a Student Absent

Update on reporting student absences at Waldwick High School:

As I mentioned in one of my summer blog posts, punctuality and attendance are crucial aspects of a student's academic journey. They play a significant role in shaping their overall educational experience and future success.

As part of our focus on attendance and
our continuous drive to improve everyday logistical functions at the High School and Middle School campus, we have created a new attendance procedure for when your child is going to be absent from school.

You will no longer call the school to report an absence. Instead, you will now be logging into Genesis Parent Portal and reporting the absence online.

The Genesis Parent Portal attendance module will be our new form of communication when alerting the school that your child will be absent.

This new three step process streamlines everything into one location and helps our daily attendance procedures move at a quicker pace.

Updated School Absence Procedure Notifying the Attendance Office

We firmly believe that working together – parents, educators and students – we can cultivate a culture of attendance excellence and lay a strong foundation for your child's future success. Your partnership in this endeavor is invaluable and we look forward to your continued support.

This new procedure will be available on a trial basis on Thursday & Friday, September 14 & 15.  Full implementation of this new procedure will be effective Monday, September 18, 2023.

If you have any questions regarding the process or are having difficulty logging into the Genesis Parent Portal, please contact Mr. Clancy, Assistant Principal.
