Summer Break Period for Student Athletes

Image
Over the past few years all coaches at WHS have provided a "No Practice Week" for their respective teams. The problem we found was that each team took different weeks and families with multiple children participating in different sports were torn as to which dates to go on vacation or spend time with family. Mr. Mayer and I both believe our coaches have done an excellent job in the past to provide sufficient time for our athletes to recharge. We, as a school community, have decided to provide a common two week recharging period for our coaches and student-athletes this coming summer. Beginning on Monday, July 22, and ending on Sunday, August 4 , our facilities will be closed to our coaches and athletes. Our teams will not compete in outside summer leagues or tournaments during this two week period. WarriorNation is all about family and we know our student-athletes, families and coaches will all benefit greatly from this well-deserved time off. We believe this will be a m...

Important message about the Championship FB Game

Image
As we get closer to the big football game on Saturday, I thought it was important to remind everyone that this game is about the players and coaches who have worked extremely hard to get to this point.   The GAME is the show!    I have heard a lot talk from students, parents and alumni about tailgating at MetLife prior to the game.  Getting together before the game is great and a perfect way to bring Warrior Nation together.   With that said, this is a high school event.  Yes we are playing at MetLife Stadium where the Jets and Giants play but we cannot tailgate in the same manner that goes on at those games.   Have your steaks and burgers on the grill, eggs, bacon and bagels on the table, chips, pretzels & crackerjacks in the bowls and coolers filled with soda, juice and water.  Have a catch in the parking lot or play Cornhole.  Play music and sit around and talk until game time.  ...
