CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FEBRUARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FEBRUARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
JAMES MORAN - ATHLETICS
James has been a great leader and a tremendously hard working player for the Waldwick Warriors boy’s basketball team this season. He is usually the first to arrive at practice, and the last to leave. James has really improved throughout the season, making strides to become one of the best big men in our league. All of his hard work and commitment culminated in James outscoring and outplaying his match-up (who is a first team all-county selection) in the second round state playoff game on February 29th.
CARLY THOMSON - CONSUMER SCIENCE
As the only freshman in the class, Carly already exhibits high quality characteristics of workplace readiness skills in class, such as self-motivation, creative thinking, reliability, friendliness, and cooperation. Carly’s group just completed an impressive environmental research project with 3-D models, which you can see on the Consumer Science 1 website. One of Carly’s favorite hobbies is sewing and it shows in class. Carly has chosen to sew an advance project she will display in the Art Fair in May. Academically, Carly is ready for class and has successfully maintained a high average. I hope to teach Carly in years to come.
SAMANTHA FORTE - THEATER
Sam has been a member of the Drama Department for the past two years. This month Sam can be seen playing Sharpay, the diva extraordinaire, in the High School Musical, this year’s Spring Musical. She was last seen on the stage of the L.T. in The Drowsy Chaperone gracing the stage as the clueless Kitty, an aspiring star. Since joining the H.S. Drama Club, Sam has gained a tremendous respect for all aspects of the theater and performance. This year she has expanded her interests and involvement, she even made her own costume. Sam is very committed to learning different ways to improve her singing and dramatic talents and shares her talent and love for the theater with the other theater students. She is extremely helpful throughout the production process, ever willing to lend a helping hand to others, both on and off the stage. She is a true leader and a shining example for all who work with her. Sam is a truly valued member of our troupe.
