WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL May Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 SOCIAL STUDIES JACK DUNICH - Jack, a junior, has excelled this year in AP Economics and Honors US History II.  He is a hard-working, attentive and self-motivated student who has flourished in the social sciences.  He is able to grasp high level economic theory, as well as the complex events of the World Wars.   Jack impresses us with his ability to balance academics with athletics, involvement in clubs and a part-time job.  Add the fact that he is an outstanding school citizen and we can say that not only is Jack a treasured asset to our Social Studies classes, but to the entire Warrior community. ATHLETICS SAMANTHA STALLARD – Samantha is a sophomore on the Spring Track Team this season.  She is a hurdler who has put together a tremendous month.   Samantha was named First Team All-League and is the 2018 NJIC Patriot Division Champion in the 100 meter high hurdles. ...

WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL April Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 ACADEMICS PATRICK KEASTEAD - Patrick, a senior, has earned student of the month because of his extraordinary dedication to his senior project.  Patrick has been working on his project for four months and is finally reaching the end of a long road to creating a documentary that remembers a few alumni from WHS who have passed due to heroin related issues.  Patrick has written scripts, set up, scheduled and recorded interviews, gathered information through research and even worked with the Waldwick Police Department.   He is currently in the final stages of the project, which includes final editing and scoring the music for the film. With this project, Patrick will leave a legacy behind that will be shared for many years to come. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL March Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 PHYSICAL EDUCATION NIKOLAS PAENG - Congratulations, Nikolas Paeng on being nominated the Physical Education student of the month! Nik is a current 10th-grade student and valuable member to Waldwick High School. Nik’s consisted effort, participation, behavior and positive attitude were recognized by his teacher and peers alike. He is a respectful young man that has great things to look forward to with his hard work and determination. We are lucky to have Nik as a part of the WHS team. VIDEO PRODUCTION MICHAEL McNAUGHT - Although Michael, a senior, did not have a video class since the eighth grade, he wanted to learn more about TV production. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL February Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 CONSUMER SCIENCE MADISON SCHEIDELER - Madison Scheideler, a junior, is the Consumer Science Student of the Month. Not only is Madison high-achieving in her academic skills, but she is also a well-rounded student in the program. Madison is almost done sewing her self-designed pajama pants and has served brunch to the Seniors in Schools. Madison also provided the entertainment for the January brunch by dancing a ballet duo with her brother, Dylan, for the Seniors. It’s a pleasure having Madison in class. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL January Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 BUSINESS PANAGIOTA PAPAMICHAEL - Pennie, a senior, has taken several business classes throughout her time at Waldwick High School.  In each one, she has taken pride in her work and eagerly participates during class discussions and activities.  Pennie also proves to be an amazing peer mentor and offers to help those around her.  She is creative, has excellent problem-solving skills, works hard and will do very well in the business world! WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL December Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 MATHEMATICS LESLEY RAMIREZ-CORTEZ - Lesley is a new freshman student, both to Waldwick and the United States. She has a great attitude and is always willing to help other students in the room with both their own math work and with translating. She is a conscientious student and works very hard at both her math and learning the English that goes with it. Since she is working through an individualized program, she often teaches herself what she needs to know and goes above and beyond to master the material. She is yet another great addition to the Warrior Family. VOCAL AMANDA CORKILL - Amanda is currently a member of the Senior Chorus who is always willing to learn different ways to improve her singing techniques. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL November Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 SCIENCE LAILA MOURAD - Laila sets the bar very high with her superb work in Honors Physics.  She is an extremely dedicated student who is always focused on learning. Laila is quick to grasp new concepts and demonstrates with every test how completely she has mastered the material.  Laila asks excellent questions, which indicate that she thinks about new material in a careful and deliberate manner.  It is a pleasure to have her for a student. CAD HANNAH CORBISIERO -Hannah is a senior who is pursuing a career in engineering. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL October Students of the Month 2017 – 2018 ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS JOSEPH SHERRY - Joe, a senior, is a diligent and talented AP English Literature student.  He does not hesitate to ask questions and seek support to become the strongest reader and writer he can.  As a writer, Joe has a solid voice and works on the craft of writing to continually improve.  As a reader, Joe is insightful and seems to understand the complexities of the text.   ART MICHAEL McNAUGHT - Michael has been a dynamic force in the art room over the past four years and such a delight to teach. He is very devoted to learning and practicing new styles of drawing, he can easily fill a sketchbook with sketches in a month's time. WORLD LANGUAGE JOSEPH SAFFIOTI - Joseph is  a sophomore enrolled in French 3 and is a constant learner.  He truly loves to acquire new information and is always ready for friendly competition!  Joe consistently uses his time wisely in class and is an independent thinker who strives for success.  A model for others, Joe constantly raises the bar around him. EMILY KAWASH - Emily is a sophomore enrolled in Spanish 3 class and has shown a great deal of skill, enthusiasm and willingness to improve her Spanish since day one.  She is always prepared, works well with other peers in the class and keeps her spirits up and those of her team.  Emily is a hard worker and will certainly learn and grow this year and in years to come! WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL May Students of the Month 2016 – 2017 SOCIAL STUDIES ALANA LINICK - Alana, a senior, has excelled this year in AP Economics.  Alana is an intellectually curious student who has a great desire to understand complex national and world events.  This passion, coupled with a great work ethic, helped Alana flourish in class throughout the year.  Alana was able to grasp high level economic theory & apply her knowledge to real world social and political developments.  We could always count on Alana to raise the class discourse to a higher level.  She has been an outstanding student this year and will undoubtedly succeed in her next level of  learning.  Alana will be studying International Business at the University of Delaware next year. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL April Students of the Month 2016 – 2017 ACADEMICS YEIMI REQUENO SALMERON - Yeimi, a freshman, earned a 98 in ESL third marking period and has also achieved the Waldwick High School Honor Roll for two consecutive marking periods.  Yeimi’s motivation to learn English and her incredible work ethic have helped her to acquire the language very quickly.  Within less than a year of beginning to study English, Yeimi began earning grades high enough to achieve honor roll.  We are excited to see her continue on this path and to find out where she decides to use her talents in the future. WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL March Students of the Month 2016 – 2017 PHYSICAL EDUCATION JASON MANGANO - Jason, a junior, is dedicated to working to his highest potential.  He actively participates in all aspects of Physical Education class; along with coming in early to class to help set up the equipment and staying late after to put it away.  There are never any complaints and Jason does what is expected of him at all times.
