WHS October Students of the Month

WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL
October Students of the Month
2015 – 2016

ENGLISH

LARISSA WOODS - Larissa Woods, a senior,  is a very focused and driven student who takes responsibility for her work and takes the time to put forth the effort consistently and rigorously.  She is an active participant in her learning and does not take the easy path; she challenges herself on every level and really goes above and beyond the level of expectation.  When we talk about literature or informational text, she’s shares the nuances of the text.  As a writer, she develops her ideas into a clear and fluid response to literature and other writing styles.  She is a self-motivated learner who takes her role as student very seriously.

ART

JAMES DILL - James, a senior,  is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement Art  Drawing and has been busy creating  his portfolio for his application to Parsons School of Design.  James is interested in pursuing fashion and will be a great candidate for any Art School!  He has been in Art for his entire high school career and has really begun to flourish as an artist.  Much of his work is focused on fashion, with much attention set on the fine details.  James also takes art classes outside of school which help motivate his creativity in the Art Room.  His personality and art will be greatly missed in the Art Room!

ERIC CARNEVALE - Eric, a senior, is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement Art Drawing.  Eric is an extremely talented artist and is exceptional with the use of graphite pencils.  He creates beautiful images using the pencils or charcoal to shade them meticulously.  Eric also likes to incorporate his interests into his paintings and focuses a great deal of his attention on the details, especially when drawing faces.  Eric may be quiet in the Art Room; however, his artwork speaks volumes and he will be greatly missed as well..

ATHLETICS

ERIN SMITH Erin is a senior midfielder on the Girls Soccer Team.  In her final season, Erin has led the team to 14 wins this season and the #2 seed in the NJSIAA North 1 Group 1 State Playoffs.  Erin was recently selected First Team All-League for her performance this season.  Erin has also performed in the classroom throughout the first marking period where she is carrying straight A’s across the board.  She is the definition of a student-athlete and everything a Warrior should be.

DANIEL SCHERB - Dan is a senior captain on the Cross Country Team this fall.  He has had a tremendous final season running for the Warriors.  Dan was recently selected First Team All-League after a great run in the NJIC Championships and stellar dual meet season.  He also qualified for the Bergen County Meet of Champions after placing in the Bergen County Championships.  Dan is also an excellent student finishing with all A’s and B’s with an AP schedule in the first marking period.  He has been a great role model for all the runners in the program.
