The purpose of Freshmen Orientation is to help our incoming Freshman class acclimate to their new school culture and assist with the transition to High School related to stress and academic achievement. Orientation is the first step in making sure our students understand the mission of WHS which is:

Waldwick High School’s mission is to create a positive learning experience through both technological and environmental means in order to promote critical thinkers, effective communicators, creators and innovators.

At Waldwick High School students will be provided an environment that encourages students to be resilient, compassionate, risk takers who will self advocate while being respectful of others.

A graduate of Waldwick High School will be a socially-responsible global citizen who celebrates and appreciates diversity.

To meet this mission, the orientation for the Class of 2027 will focus on the following:
  • Learning WHS traditions
  • Becoming familiar with the campus
  • Getting to know each other and learning about Student Voice
  • Introduction/Overview of Student Life
  • Focus 9 - The nine essential skills that prepare students for success
Once a Freshman has attended Orientation, we hope they will continue their growth to become a WHS student who respects others, is not afraid to fail, is an advocate for themselves and others and is ready to make their mark as a Freshman at Waldwick High School!

Freshman and New Student Orientation is a very important part of every student's development and transition into the High School environment. We hope every new student will attend!
