November Students of the Month

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NOVEMBER
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

SCIENCE
Julien Napoli - Julien Napoli is Science Student of the Month for his work in Astronomy. The quality of Julien’s work in Astronomy is first-rate. He is eager to understand every detail and demonstrates his deep interest in and fascination with the subject each day. He reads widely in the topic outside of class and always has a good question that extends our class discussions in new directions. He is never satisfied with his level of understanding and is always striving to dig deeper. These are the qualities of an excellent scientist.

CAD
Trevor Ramundo - Trevor is a senior in CAD II. He has performed exceptionally well holding an “A” and leads the class with completing his assignments. Trevor has expressed an interest in becoming an engineer and has prepared himself by taking other Technology Education classes such as Design and Engineering. He also participated last year in the New Jersey State Technology Student Association Design Competition designing his own invention. This year Trevor has entered another very competitive design competition called the Thomas Edison Design Competition held at NJIT. Trevor’s CAD skills will greatly improve his chances of winning the competition in which he must design an invention that utilizes wind, solar or hydrogen power.

ATHLETICS
Nicole Van Dyke – Nicole has been instrumental, not only to the soccer team winning the Sectional Championship, but to the success the team has had this season. Nicole is the leader of the midfield and is consistently one of the best players on the field. She is a strong player who has some of the quickest feet on the team. Nicole is second on the team in scoring (6 goals) and tied for first in assists (7 assists). She has had an assist in each of the team’s State games, helping lead the team to its third Sectional Championship and first since 2008.

Congratulations Cara Montella - Bergen County High School Band

Congratulations to Waldwick trombonist Cara Montella on her acceptance into Bergen County High School Band.  Talented musicians from high schools all over Bergen County audition for the chance to perform in this prestigious group.  County band provides an opportunity for students to perform a challenging program with the best musicians of the area.

This is the second year Cara has been accepted into this honor ensemble.  Cara placed second at the audition and her score was the second highest of all the trombonists who tried out.  This is quite an accomplishment for a sophomore; Cara’s score placed her ahead of junior and senior trombone players who auditioned.
