JUNIOR PARENTS NIGHT
THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS
Scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 6:30pm in the Little Theatre

We are coming to the end of a very important academic year for your eleventh grade student and will be embarking on the most important, busiest, and stressful year of their high school career – the SENIOR year!

The guidance counselors at Waldwick High School offer a very important informational program for juniors and their parents, which has been designed to be an extension of the individualized parent/student meetings that were held in January and February of this year. This presentation will be held for the Class of 2015 collectively.

WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO ATTEND THIS PRESENTATION WITH YOUR CHILD.

This presentation will be a casual forum with the guidance counselors providing information on senior year issues such as:

* The college application process
* Submitting college and scholarship applications through Guidance and Naviance
* Using the Common Application Form
* Teacher Recommendations
* Submitting SAT and ACT Scores to Colleges
* Waldwick High School senior forms - usage and requirements
* College representatives visiting Waldwick High School
* NCAA Forms
* Naviance based forms and required Surveys, Resumes, and Brag sheet
* College application terminology and deadlines

We will be providing a very important Senior Guide to each attendee which provides step-by-step instructions for students to be successful in meeting all of the requirements necessary to implement their college applications through the Guidance office.

The Junior Parents Night is the most important Guidance presentation you and your child will attend throughout their high school career.  We look forward to seeing both parents and juniors at this event!

WHS March Students of the Month

WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL
March Students of the Month
2013 – 2014

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
ERIN SCOTT – Erin is currently a student in 10th Grade, 8th Period Physical Education Class.  She has an outstanding, positive attitude during her time spent in PE class.  Her positive attitude is seen through her effort during her participation in PE class.  Erin is always well-behaved, courteous, and respectful to other students.  Due to her performance mentally and physically, it is the PE/Health Department’s pleasure to select Erin as Student of the  Month for March.

VIDEO PRODCTION
SPYROS KATSIHTIS – Spyros, a junior, has had a voracious appetite for TV Production since the 8th grade.  His body of work speaks for itself from a big hit music video, “White Nerdy,” to last year’s “Slackers,” which he filmed during his study hall, unofficially enrolling in TV 4 class last year.  This year, his group trekked into Brooklyn to film a behind the scenes documentary on Diners.  Spyros has talent and the drive; two characteristics to start a successful future.  In a class filled with students who are talented and hard-working, Spyros has distanced himself from the pack.

ATHLETICS
CARLY TYUKODY – Carly is a senior, 4-year player in the softball program and a standout student.  She is a leader in the classroom and on the field.  Carly has proven to be a great role model for the 25 freshmen and sophomores in the softball program because of her dedication to her school work while balancing athletics.  Next year, as a result of her academic successes, she will further her education at either Quinnipiac or Sacred Heart University.
