Summer Break Period for Student Athletes

Over the past few years all coaches at WHS have provided a "No Practice Week" for their respective teams. The problem we found was that each team took different weeks and families with multiple children participating in different sports were torn as to which dates to go on vacation or spend time with family. Mr. Mayer and I both believe our coaches have done an excellent job in the past to provide sufficient time for our athletes to recharge. We, as a school community, have decided to provide a common two week recharging period for our coaches and student-athletes this coming summer. Beginning on Monday, July 22, and ending on Sunday, August 4 , our facilities will be closed to our coaches and athletes. Our teams will not compete in outside summer leagues or tournaments during this two week period. Update: High School Graduation Assessment Requirements for Classes 2019 and 2020

Repollet, Ed.D., Commissioner of Education on February 22, 2019: Update: High School Graduation Assessment Requirements for Classes 2019 and 2020 Today the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) received a consent order from the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, memorializing an agreement between the NJDOE and the Education Law Center addressing the high school graduation assessment requirements for the Classes of 2019 and 2020. As I have stated throughout this process, my priority is the establishment of a clear path to graduation for those students in the Classes of 2019 and 2020. The consent order, which is similar to the relief originally requested in the NJDOE’s motion for partial reconsideration, provides this clarity. Class of 2023 - High School Scheduling for 19-20 SY

On Tuesday, February 5, the high school guidance counselors, Mrs. Gastman and Mrs. Fortini met with the eighth grade students regarding their schedule for next year. Students will be making their requests online for the elective courses they are interested in. The core academic courses (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies & World Language) are based on, a placement test, current grades and teacher recommendations and will be posted later in March for student/parent review. Below are two important links which should be reviewed: The Course Selection Guide gives a description of all courses offered at WHS. Course Selection Guide 19-20 Students who are interested in enrolling in any of the Honors Programs (Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and World Languages) need to indicate that by completing this online form by 8am on Friday, February 8. Interested in 9th Grade Honors Courses *Students who are interested in the Honors Program will need to take placement tests lat
