Class of 2024 - High School Scheduling for 20-21 SY

On Wednesday, January 22, the high school guidance counselors, Mrs. Gastman and Mrs. Fortini will be meeting with the eighth grade students regarding their schedule for next year. Students will be making their requests online for the elective courses they are interested in using this form: Course Selection Form 20-21 SY   (This form was emailed to the students and can only be completed by a Waldwick School District Student)  The core academic courses (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies & World Language) are based on a placement test, current grades and teacher recommendations and will be posted in March for student/parent review. Semester Assessments

Semester assessments start next week. We will be running a modified schedule with two assessments per day. Here is the Schedule for the four days. The normal rotation will be followed but we will have a modified bell schedule. Monday 1/13 Day 3 - Assessment Blocks (Periods 3 & 7) Tuesday 1/14 Day 4 - Assessment Blocks (Periods 4 & 8) Wednesday 1/15 Day 1 - Assessment Blocks (Periods 1 & 5) Thursday 1/16 Day 2 - Assessment Blocks (Periods 2 & 6) A few items to clarify: Each assessment block is 90 minutes. All classes will still be meeting whether the class is giving a semester assessments or not. There should be no other major tests given during the 4 days of semester assessments. The semester assessment is a separate item in Gradebook. It does not count towards your marking period 2 grade.

CPR

As part of our Health curriculum, all Junior Health classes will be covering CPR towards the end of the marking period. As mentioned on Back-To-School Night, upon completion of the unit, the students are provided with an opportunity to test for certification. Students who choose to participate will be charged $20.00 plus a Transaction Fee.
