SOCIAL STUDIES

DANIELLE ROSS - Danielle, a senior, is the Social Studies Department Student of the Month.  Danielle is enrolled and has done well in three social studies courses this year.  Danielle began the first semester with a 94 average in Understanding and is continuing the second semester with a 99 average in History of American Popular Culture.  She has carried a 91 average all year long in European History Honors.  We are very excited that Danielle chose to take three social studies electives in her senior year and are extremely proud of her accomplishments.

ATHLETICS

AMELIA APGAR – Amelia is a senior on the Spring Girls Track Team.  Amelia had a tremendous month of May in her field events.  Amelia won both the Shot Put and Discus events at the Bergen County Division D Championships on May 14.  She followed that up with a repeat North 1 Group 1 State Sectional Championship in the Shot Put event on May 28.  Amelia was also named First Team All-League in the NJIC Patriot Division.  Amelia leaves Waldwick as one of the most decorated track champions in school history.

SERGIO DIAZ – Sergio is a senior on the Baseball Team this spring and  is one of the team’s three captains this year.  He has done a fantastic job as a leader and role model in his senior season. Sergio has continued a stellar career by surpassing the 100 RBI mark for his career.  During the month of May he batted .472 with 5 HRs and 21 RBIs.  Sergio has been an excellent student as well this school year, receiving A’s and B’s in all of his classes.  Sergio is truly a player that will be missed greatly when he graduates.  We wish Sergio well as he continues his baseball career at DeSales University next fall.
