New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment - Individual Score Report

 New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment
(NJGPA)

Individual Score Report

On July 5, 2022, Governor Murphy signed P.L.2022, c.60 (ACS for A-3196/S-2349), which requires the NJGPA to be administered as a field test for grade 11 students who are expected to graduate in the Class of 2023. This law also prohibits the results of the NJGPA field test or any other assessment from being used as a prerequisite for graduation for students expected to graduate in the Class of 2023. As a result, there is no graduation assessment requirement for any student who is expected to graduate with the Class of 2023. Students in the Class of 2023 must still meet all the other State and local graduation requirements, including but not limited to credit, curriculum, and attendance requirements.

In the spring, your student participated in the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) administration to measure the extent to which your student is graduation ready in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics. The ELA component of the NJGPA assesses student graduation readiness based on grade 10 standards. The mathematics component of the NJGPA assesses student graduation readiness based on Algebra I and Geometry standards. The NJGPA is required to be administered to students in grade 11 as part of the graduation assessment requirements adopted by the State Board of Education on September 8, 2021.

Your student’s NJGPA Individual Student Report (ISR) has been mailed home and you should receive the report the week of October 31, 2022. The report will also be available in the New Jersey Parent Portal at nj-results.pearsonaccessnext.com on or about November 4, 2022. If this is the first time you will be accessing the online portal, you must create an account using the unique claim code that is located on your student’s paper ISR. Additional information about the NJGPA, including practice tests, can be found on the New Jersey Assessments Resource Center at nj.mypearsonsupport.com under NJGPA.

While the results of the NJGPA will not be used as a prerequisite for graduation, the results shown on your student’s ISR can be helpful in determining potential areas of focus for this school year. We are committed to supporting your student during their high school experience, which includes providing opportunities and support to assist them with mastering the knowledge and skills necessary for success after graduation.
