January Students of the Month

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JANUARY
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

BUSINESS
MATTHEW GIMELLI - Matt has one of the highest grades in both Accounting and Personal Finance.  He participates actively in class discussions and is willing to help other students.  He shows interest in his classes and demonstrates good skills.  It is important in business to be punctual; and his assignments are always on time.  He works within the calendar of the curriculum, as the online assignments are posted and have due dates.  Matt is thoughtful and is respectful of other classmates.  Matt’s skills have enabled him to succeed outside the classroom in sports where he has been able to demonstrate organizational and leadership skills.

INSTRUMENTAL
BRIANA RAGO - This is Brie’s second year in Concert Band.  She is a valuable member of the ensemble, one who always gives her best effort.  Brie has demonstrated much musical growth in the past two years.  She works hard during rehearsals to improve her flute playing and strives to understand the musical language through theory assignments.  Brie is also an important member of the Marching Band; she participates in both Color Guard and Pep Band throughout the fall season.

ATHLETICS
NICK ORAVETZ - Nick is a 400m runner on the Winter Track Team.  At the NJIC Conference Championship, Nick ran the fastest 400m indoor track time for a Waldwick High School student in over 15 years.  His time of 53.3 seconds is an indication of the time and effort that Nick has put into practice this season.  Nick has matured as a 400m runner this season and is looking to improve upon his time.  With the State Sectional meet and County Championship still to go, the school record of 51.9 seconds from 1972 could be in serious jeopardy.
