WHS February Students of the Month

WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL
February Students of the Month
2015 – 2016

CONSUMER SCIENCE

SAMANTHA HUGHES - Samantha is a junior in the Consumer Science Class.  Sam earned the Student of the Month distinction through hard work, an honest effort to master tasks, an interest in the coursework and a sense of pride in completing her assignments; including a beautifully sewn reversible laptop quilt.  Sam also exerts a positive attitude, a love for reading and an athletic ability in Lacrosse, which plays in both individual effort and teamwork in class.  Congratulations and thank you Sam for all of your hard work.

THEATER

MIA HILDEBRAND - Mia, a sophomore, is one of the unsung heroes of the Drama Club.  Mia lends her incredible talents to many facets of both the Middle School and High School Drama Clubs.  Starting with the Middle School production of Dear Edwina,  Mia showed a real flair for technical theater.  She stepped up as Stage Manager and Assistant Scenic Designer.  During the High School production, she continued to grow as a theatrical artist.  Her amazing dedication and fantastic organizational skills as the Production Stage Manager of Once Upon a Mattress have garnered the respect of her crew and cast.  Mia’s efforts have led to the amazing detail that can be seen in the set artistry, show poster and playbill cover.  The show would not be as good as it is without Mia’s dedication and talents.

ATHLETICS

GRACE D’ANNIBALE Grace is a senior on the Girls Basketball Team this year.  This past month she led the team back to the State Playoffs for the third straight season.  Grace also became just the third female in school history to eclipse the 1,000 point milestone when she scored 15 points on Senior Night vs. Becton.  Grace was recently selected 1st Team All-League for her efforts this year.  Grace is also a hard-working student who is taking AP and Honors courses throughout her senior year.

KYLE MULVEY Kyle is a freshmen on the Indoor Track Team this winter.  Kyle has had an excellent month for his first high school indoor season.  He won the High Jump Competition at the Garfield Meet on February 12 and then followed that up with a medal at the State Sectional Meet qualifying him for the State Groups Meet.  Kyle is just beginning what hopes to be a fantastic track career here at Waldwick High School.
