WHS Guidance News - FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

Junior/Senior Parents/Guardians:

We would like to make you aware of an upcoming Financial Aid Night Presentation offered to junior and senior parents scheduled for Tuesday evening, OCTOBER 15, 2019. This presentation is a financial aid workshop that will benefit you greatly in learning about financial aid options, specific forms, and regulations and how to complete the FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP
Program for 11th and 12th Grade Parents/Guardians
Scheduled for Tuesday, OCTOBER 15, 2019
At 6:30pm in the WHS Little Theatre
Presenter: Mr. Kimber Decker

This program will provide an excellent opportunity for parents to learn about what aid is available, and how to apply for it. Our speaker is Mr. Kimber Decker, who has presented this workshop to our parents for the last several years. Parents who have older children, and who have experience in applying for financial aid, will be made aware of recent changes in the financial aid picture.

Copies of the FAFSA form will be available and will be reviewed on a line-by-line basis. Parents should make sure they bring a writing utensil with them so they can make the necessary notes on these forms for future reference. Additionally, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions related to any aspect of the application process, as well as the various federal and state programs that currently exist.

This workshop is open to both the junior and senior parents. The program is geared more towards the senior parents because they will be completing the FAFSA forms after October 1st. The junior parents are invited to utilize the program as another resource in the financial aid landscape.

Additionally, there are several resources located in Naviance under the College Tab under the Resources link. The Resources link provides college resources that include a direct link to the FAFSA form, and other college planning sites.
