WHS December Students of the Month

WALDWICK HIGH SCHOOL
December Students of the Month
2013 – 2014

MATH
ANDREW FUCARINO – Andrew is fascinated by mathematics and endeavors to challenge himself at every opportunity.  He is currently enrolled in Pre-calculus Honors, where he has already completed future assignments.  Thus, he is continuing to improve his mathematical acumen by working on enrichment topics outside the scope of the class.  Moreover, Andrew is a member of the High School Math Club, and has been since his freshman year.  He has been awarded with the Bronze Medal by the American Mathematics Competition for being the
school winner for two consecutive years and is currently working on attaining his third win
this February.

VOCAL
BRIANA RAGO - Briana is currently a member of the WHS Senior Chorus.  Brie loves to sing and she is committed to learning different ways to improve her vocal techniques.  Brie always has a smile on her face and is ready to sing.  Through the years in the music program, Brie has become a student that others can go to for help.  She is always willing to help other students with musical dilemmas and tasks.  In addition to singing with the chorus, Brie is also an active member of the WHS Band program.  She is a fine example of a well-rounded music student.  Brie’s energy and commitment to singing and her love for performing shine through both on stage and off.

ATHLETICS
MICHAEL MARKMAN – Michael has really developed over the years into a quality hurdler for the WHS Track Team.  After experiencing some success last year, Michael has really dedicated himself to improving in the hurdles.  Over the summer and the fall, Michael trained specifically for the hurdles and transformed himself into a legitimate threat to break the school record in the 55m hurdles.  He is a leader on the Track Team with his positive attitude and desire to improve.  Whether at practice or at a track meet, Michael always gives an effort that is a model for the other members of the team.  Michael is a great example that hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence can lead to success; not only on the track, but in life as well.
